Music Skill Rubrics

 

Vocal Skill Rubric

5 (Excellent) Matches pitch consistently with good posture, clear tone, and diction.

4 (Good) Most of the criteria are present, but one is missing.

3 (Average) Matches some of the criteria, but two are missing.

2 (Below Average) Only matches one of the criteria.

1 (Unsatisfactory) Matches none of the specified criteria.

 

Instrumental Skill Rubric

5 (Excellent) Consistently shows control of the steady beat and rhythmic and melodic patterns with good tone, proper posture and technique.

4 (Good) Shows one of the components, but one of the criteria is missing.

3 (Average) Shows some of the criteria, but two are missing.

2 (Below Average) One of the criteria may be met, but the others are missing.

1 (Unsatisfactory) The student is still working to make the criteria present.

 

Literacy Rubric

5 (Excellent) Consistently shows an understanding of the concept.  Meets all criteria of the assignment.

4 (Good) Demonstrates the musical concept, but is not consistent, or is missing one criteria of the assignment.

3 (Average) Has an understanding of the musical concept, but is missing two of the criteria of the assignment.

2 (Below Average) The student shows at least one of the criteria of the assignment.

1 (Unsatisfactory) The student is still working to demonstrate an understanding of the concept.

 

Citizenship Rubric

5 (Excellent) Consistently works well with others as a good listener and leader, follows directions, and comes prepared to class.

4 (Good) Shows good citizenship, but may be missing one of the criteria.

3 (Average) Mostly shows good citizenship, but two of the criteria may be missing.

2 (Below Average) Is not consistent in citizenship, but one of the criteria may be present.

1 (Unsatisfactory) Needs to follow direction and cooperate with others in class.
