LEND A HAND, LIFT A HEART

MISSION CLUB

Mission Club Prayer

Lord, sent by the Father, You were the first missionary. I thank You for inviting me to take part in the Missions, the "holiest duty of the Church."

I thank You for my Baptism which gives me a share in Your very own life.

I thank You for the Eucharist in which You give me yourself as food to nourish and sustain me.

I thank You for the gift of Confirmation when I become a committed witness to Your love and your truth.

Help me, Lord, to be Your missionary wherever I am. Teach me to see You in all my brothers and sisters on this earth regardless of race, creed or color. Help me to live my life in such a way that all my words and actions will proclaim You as Christ, the Lord!

Bless in a special way those missionaries who have given their lives to You, those who serve You in difficult and often dangerous situations. Keep them safe, happy, holy and enthusiastic as they spread the Good News to the ends of the earth.  Amen.

MISSION MEETING

This is the third year our Mission Representatives will be participating in a mission service field trip.  This trip was designed so the representatives would have the opportunity to experience a hands-on service project.  In the past we have collected, sorted and bagged toiletries for Karen House, made sandwiches for St. Cronan’s lunch program, and stocked the pantry shelves at St. Cronan’s.

This year our representatives will be going to the store to buy healthy snacks, (pretzels, raisins, animal crackers, fruit packs, goldfish, granola bars, juice boxes etc.) for the after school program at Midtown Catholic Charities Community Services on South Boyle.  We will also be shopping to provide toilet paper (4 packs), laundry detergent (probably the small to medium size and not the giant size), bleach,  kitchen cleanser, dish detergent, pine sol, spic & span, paper towels, and tissues for their Credit Club.

We will be leaving school at 8:30 on Tuesday, April 28 and returning at  approximately 1:00-1:30.
