The Resource Room/Learning
Consultant Model
|
In order to meet the needs of students with different learning styles, St.
Clement School incorporates the Resource model in grades K-5 and the Learning
Consultant model in grades 6-8.
Mrs. Mary Proot provides Resource services in grades K-2. Services may
include individual or small group instruction, or class-within-a-class
instruction. Emphasis at this level is on early identification/intervention of
learning differences.
Mrs. Kathy Fischer provides Resource services for grades 3-8. In grades
3-5, services may include class-within-a-class instruction, small group
instruction, pull-out, and testing in alternative settings. In grades 6-8,
students diagnosed with learning differences receive indirect assistance through
ongoing collaboration with the students’ teachers, parents, and outside support
personnel.
Resource support at all levels can include monitoring students’ progress,
suggesting teaching strategies and diversified instruction methods, and
adjustments to instruction and assessment. |
